EastwoodRetirement

Eastwood Retirement Village

The first of its kind in East Gippsland, Eastwood Retirement was developed and supported by local investors, who recognised a growing need for accommodation to suit the needs of the region’s ageing population. A resort-style retirement village on the outskirts of Bairnsdale, it provides a relaxed, maintenance-free lifestyle among landscaped gardens and modern construction for people aged 55 and above.

The investment paid off. In the three years since construction began in 2009, 115 independent living villas have sold and 93 residents have moved in. Construction is underway on the second and third stages, with stage four to commence late in 2014. Once completed, Eastwood Retirement will include 169 architect-designed one, two and three-bedroom villas.

The village embraces its rural setting within Eastwood Estate, while enjoying the convenience of close proximity to a shopping centre, medical centre and other facilities. Its design ensures residents enjoy a high quality of life in a stress-free home setting.

“Our residents bring their pets and enjoy a safe and secure environment with a 24-hour emergency response system, as well as regular property and garden maintenance and a place to park their caravan or boat,” Eastwood Retirement General Manager, Jeanette Davidson, said. “We believe our residents should have a great sense of belonging to a community that encourages, supports and enriches their lives.”

The Eastwood Retirement Community Centre has a craft and games room, fully equipped gymnasium, lounge and kitchen facilities for function catering, workshop, swimming pool and other health and wellness amenities, while residents take part in group activities such as art classes, carpet bowls, book club, walking groups, happy hours and afternoon tea.
