With over 30 primary schools, 11 secondary schools, a strong TAFE sector, and a range of specialist education and training facilities linked to industry and trades training, East Gippsland is equipped to meet your education needs. The region is also well set-up to support young children through the early years, with a range of childcare, playgroups, child health services, kindergartens and other services available.

For those wanting to further their education, Federation Training is a specialist provider of vocational training and higher education pathways in eastern Victoria, with campuses throughout the spectacular Gippsland region. Federation University in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland offers an expanded range of courses either on site or by distance education.

Monash Rural Health, East Gippsland provides undergraduate medical education programs at Monash University, on site in Bairnsdale. The school supports pre-vocational, vocational training and continuing education for medical and health graduates, and also provides support for nursing and allied health students undertaking rural / regional placements.

Most communities also offer regular adult education and training courses within the community centres, supported by East Gippsland Shire Council, as well as the University of the Third Age (U3A) in Bairnsdale.
