With over 30 primary schools, 11 secondary schools and a growing tertiary education sector, East Gippsland offers strong prospects for prospective employees in the education industry.

Offering a range of services to support children through their early years including childcare, playgroups, child health services and kindergartens, East Gippsland is also home to one of Victoria’s best specialist schools, which provides a comprehensive curriculum for primary and post-primary students with intellectual, physical and other disabilities.

Federation Training is the major tertiary institute in East Gippsland, offering diploma level education across a range of vocations. Federation University, based in Churchill, also offers undergraduate and post graduate options for East Gippsland students.

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service hosts the Monash University School of Rural Health on its hospital campus which provides placements and education for future GPs. Federation University works closely with local healthcare providers to deliver a mixed mode undergraduate nursing degree.
